Weddings Trends for 2024 | Classic White Decor

How New Wedding Trends are Shaping the 2024 Wedding Season

We are well on our way into the new year, yet the latest 2024 wedding trends remain top of mind. What’s in style for weddings? What’s new and trending? A combination of factors often drives the trends each year. From fashion trends to Pantone’s Color of the Year, regional trends, and lately, the buzz created by social media influencers, new wedding trends help to shape each new wedding season.

So what are the latest wedding trends and how are they shaping the 2024 wedding season? With a little help from South Florida wedding experts, let’s take a look!

Trending Color Schemes for Weddings

Wedding theme colors can range from classic traditional to trending color combinations.

It’s important to note that while some trends come and go each year, the traditional wedding trends remain classics. The white wedding, for example, will always be a classic. According to Katie Arbogast, Executive Planner at 59 & Bluebell Events, “the white wedding is always trending and never goes out of style.”

On the flip side, wedding planner Stephanie Castro of Stephanie Nicole Events is seeing, “a big trend towards bold colored or patterned linens.”  With that trend in mind, think patterned florals and bold florals, such as our Tulip Bloom linen, and bold colors such as our Mustard Velvet or Coral Fiesta Matte Satin, both of which are bold, beautiful, yet elegant and appropriate for a wedding.

Katie Arbogast has also noticed a lot of clients interested in textures. We recommend adding texture to wedding tabletops with our Avanti and Zest table linens because they are beautiful woven textures that are very popular right now. Both fabrics are perfect for high-end weddings, beach weddings, and dinner parties as they are natural fabrics that are clean and elegant.

While playing off the latest trends is always an option, there’s no right answer about which color scheme to choose for wedding colors. We advise that a wedding couple consider their wedding aesthetic vision along with the trends and combine that with the aesthetic of the venue. It’s smart to look at the venue and understand its color palette, style, and layout to select the best color schemes for decor, florals, and event rentals.

Quiet Luxury Weddings

Quiet Luxury is carrying over from 2023 as a trend in 2024. For weddings, the quiet luxury look can be taken from the fashion world and translated into wedding schemes that are clean and classic in their look. The color palettes of quiet luxury tend to be neutrals such as black, white, and beige but can also include red, baby pink, and olive green.

Wedding Seating Arrangements

Seating styles for weddings will often vary based on the venue layout. While the traditional round table is a classic and often-used option, wedding couples are getting more creative. “We are seeing a trend towards long tables and moving away from using just round tables in wedding reception layouts,” said Arbogast.

According to Lindsay Parkin of LepWeddings, a table trend for 2024 and 2025 weddings is the placement of digital disposable cameras at guest tables. This is a popular trend from the past that is back in digital form. Wedding couples love to have cameras available for guests to take photos from their perspective throughout the wedding. The wedding couple then has even more beautiful memories captured of the special day.

Stephanie Castro is seeing a micro-wedding trend in that “couples are scaling back on guest count and opting for under 50 guests.” With this trend, couples are choosing intimate dinner parties and then hitting up the bars and nightclubs with their friends.

Unique Is Trending Too

Being unique is also trending, especially with Unity Ceremonies. Lindsay Parkin has noticed an uptick in Unity Ceremonies that are either a part of the couple’s heritage or that hold significance to their relationship and personal life in some way.  Some unique Unity Ceremonies she has seen include a “Grow Old with Me” Ceremony where the couple will each pour dirt onto a potted tree and water it together. They will then plan this at the home they are building. She has also seen the 13 Coin Ceremony making a comeback, the Veiling Ceremony from Filipino culture, and the crowning ceremony from Greek culture.

Pet Concierges on the Wedding Vendor Team

More hotels are becoming pet-friendly. With many wedding couples looking to include their pets as part of the wedding ceremony and reception, Lindsay Parkin has added Pet Concierges to the vendor team “so that clients can have their fur babies as part of the wedding day.” Pet Concierges allows clients to feel comfortable knowing that their pets are well taken care of without friends or family having to take on the responsibility of caring for them.

Must-Have Wedding Decor Rentals in 2024

The hottest party rentals for 2024 would include adding colorful goblets and charger plates to the tabletop, selecting specialty linens and napkins, and upgrading flatware. Gold flatware, in particular, is now having a moment as a top wedding decor rental, adding so much to the overall wedding aesthetic.

Both Stephanie Castro and Katie Arbogast are seeing a trend towards elevated wedding tablescapes. “The tablescape is EVERYTHING for wedding couples right now, ” said Stephanie. “Clients are scaling back on flowers, adding tons of candles, and splurging on gorgeous charger plates, dinnerware, and glassware. In addition to elevated place settings, wedding couples are adding personalized menus, name tags, thank you cards, bows, and acrylic charms for the champagne flutes.”
