While traditional weddings will always make an impact, it’s fair to say that the latest wedding trends are always on our radar! We love to learn about the latest wedding trends each new year as it brings fresh ideas to make a wedding special and unique. And who better to learn from when it comes to what’s trending in weddings for 2024 than from our South Florida wedding professionals! We asked our local South Florida wedding professionals to fill us in on the key wedding trends so here are 6 wedding trends you can expect to see in 2024.
2024 Wedding Trends
Flower Walls Continue to Trend with Added Elements
Flower walls are still having a moment at weddings, providing a beautiful backdrop and photo opportunity spot for wedding couples and their guests. The biggest 2024 wedding trend for flower walls, according to Alexandra Mitlitsky of Luxe Flower Walls, is the addition of neon signs. Whether it be customized with the couple’s name, wedding hashtag, or a meaningful quote, they add a modern and stylish touch to the overall wedding decor.

Behind The Scenes Content Is A Must
Krystal Zaskey of Krystal Zaskey Photography said that they are experiencing a wedding photography trend where wedding couples want BTS (behind-the-scenes) content creation. Couples are hiring someone to shoot BTS of the wedding using iPhones so that they can create reels and have various types of content for social media.
Black and White Photos Are Back
The right photo booth adds a tasteful and elegant compliment to your wedding day. It brings an extra layer of entertainment without compromising the aesthetics of your decor. From classic photos to exciting boomerangs, photobooths are trending for weddings in 2024. Twists on Classic Cocktails
2024 cocktail trends for weddings “will see twists on the classics like the Negroni”, according to Barbara Bruna of Barbarbies. Cocktails will involve theatrics and visuals as another way to enhance the guest experience with elements such as elevated garnishes, unique mixers, creative ice cubes, spicy cocktails, and spiked slushies. Also on the rise is a larger focus on non-alcoholic cocktails.

Vibrant Wedding Color Palettes
While traditional whites and neutrals will always be a wedding trend, there’s a color shift for weddings in 2024. Be it a take on Barbiecore or the use of bolder and brighter floral prints on table linens, wedding couples are not afraid to utilize color and patterns in tabletop design.
According to Brides, Marseille Blue is the wedding color of the year 2024. “Marseille Bleu is a dynamic, lively shade that works just as well for a formal, black-tie wedding in a major city as it does at a barefoot celebration on the beach. ”
Colored options for china, flatware, and glassware will be a strong trend as they allow for mixing and matching to create unique looks. Colored chargers are a great way to add a pop of color to the tabletop design. The mixing and matching of wedding table linens and tabletop items will continue to trend as well as layering of various textures. Using a gauze napkin with satin linen is a beautiful example of combining textures and getting creative with wedding tabletop designs in 2024.

Destination South Florida
South Florida remains a popular beach wedding and destination wedding location. Destination weddings trend each year but we expect to see a continued focus on beach weddings and destination locations here in South Florida for weddings in 2024. Since COVID, the spike in wedding couples who choose South Florida as their destination spot has increased exponentially. According to Research and Markets 2023 Destination Wedding Global Market Report, the destination wedding segment of the wedding market made $7 billion more in 2023 than it did in the year 2022, with growth from $21.32 billion to $28.31 billion.
Florida beach weddings remain a top wedding trend for 2024 as couples can invite guests for a destination wedding with a reception at a beautiful beach venue and incorporate wedding-related events that give the full Florida vacation experience. We also note that many of our clients live in South Florida during the winter, and up north in states such as New York during the summer. These clients host their events in Florida during the winter months and invite guests from out of town which offers an incredible destination event experience.
