Mr. Event: 8 Days of Thanksgiving?!
Dear Atlas Event Rental Blog Readers,
You know that it is a rare case for me to talk about events that haven’t happened yet, but I have a really, REALLY good excuse this time.
I mean it’s really good. Like a once-in-a-lifetime good reason.
Why? Because the event I’m about to write about hasn’t happened during the lifetime of any person who is currently alive on the planet Earth!
AND it won’t happen again for another 70,000 years!
That’s right folks, Thanksgivukkah is upon us!
What is Thanksgivukkah you ask?
Well, if you can’t figure it out from the name, it’s the combination of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah!
Yup, this year, for the first time since 1888, and the last time until the year 79,811, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fall on the exact same day!
So what is a person to do? There is a chance that you might not be Jewish, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate a little bit extra this year!
It is truly impossible to write about something that hasn’t happened in the last two centuries. The only option is to write about some of the things I’ve seen other people preparing to do to make this monumental occasion a truly unique experience!
For example, the folks over at BuzzFeed have a few nice recipe ideas that combine the best of both worlds:
-Potato Latkes with Cranberry Applesauce
-Maneschewitz-Brined Roast Turkey
-Rye Pumpkin Pye (pie) and Pecan Pie Rugelach (you know I like the desserts!)
Other people are writing about turkey shaped Menorahs.
I have to admit, my expertise is with Thanksgiving, not Hannukah. I need help: What are your ideas for this once-in-a-lifetime event?!
