Do Me a Favor!
Dear Atlas Event Rental Blog Readers,
You know that I’m always on the lookout for new and amazing things at events and parties. That’s my raison d’être.
But I’ll be honest, it’s not really something that happens all the time. Living in South Florida is great (just ask the people who had to shovel snow on Thanksgiving where they wish they were), but sometimes it seems like the options for events can get pretty monotonous. You’ve got golf courses, hotels and beaches.
Well, I recently attended an event that took me to a great new location AND did something that I’ve never seen before that had my head spinning with happiness!
The Floridian Re-Launch Party was one of the best times I’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t over-the-top, it was just very well thought out and excellently executed.
To start, the party took place on the Lucky Old Sun Ranch in Jupiter, FL. The goal for the ladies at The Floridian was to highlight “fall in Florida” and they knocked it out of the park! This was a perfect location that took those of us who may not be native Floridians down a path of autumn nostalgia. I loved it instantly with its out door, country atmosphere. Live music, string lighting and a laid back feeling made you feel like you were hanging in a friend’s back yard (but enjoying great food and desserts courtesy of A Matter of Taste and Earth and Sugar).
The real thing that put this event over the top for me was the signature drink. Appropriately named “The Floridian”, this drink almost made me wish I had a drinking problem! It was sweet with a little citrus kick and, like all great drinks, it didn’t taste like alcohol.
The organizers did something phenomenal: Instead of keeping this delicious concoction to themselves, they actually provided a recipe card! No lie! It was amazing . . . until I read the ingredients.
There was rum, grapefruit juice, lime juice and simple syrup. No problem right? Well, the one ingredient that really put this drink over the top was Orange and Hibiscus Bitters!
Where the heck are you going to get Orange and Hibiscus Bitters?! My world almost came crashing down around me until someone pointed something out to me.
When I tell you the ladies at The Floridian really planned this one out well, I wasn’t kidding. The party favor for the evening was none other than a bottle of Orange and Hibiscus Bitters!
That’s class. Pure class.
It was all I could do to not pull my car around and load the entire supply into my trunk, but I resisted. I took one bottle and a menu card. I’ve made the drink at home since and it was fantastic. Whenever I taste it, I think of a great night!
Mr. Event’s Takeaway:
This was a great event that made it possible for you to take a little piece of it home with you. If you’re planning an event and you have something unique about it, try to figure out a way that your guests can leave with it in their pockets! That way, they will think of you and your event every time they use/look at it!
