Mr. Event: Keep on Trucking!

Dear Atlas Event Rental Blog Readers,

Frist, Happy New Year! I can imagine you all attended amazing star-studded galas, rocking clubs, and other phenomenal events all over South Florida (all of which had Atlas Event Rental products all over the place I’m sure!).

Or you put the kids to bed, barely kept your eyes open, saw the ball drop and passed out on the couch.

Of the two, I think I’m getting to the point where the couch sounds really, really good.

But, it is my job to go out there and see what the world has to offer. It’s when I think that there are no surprises left that I am usually moments away from a giant surprise, and this time was no different.

This year, some friends of mine decided to stay local and go to a friend’s house for New Year’s Eve. We were told to dress nicely and to bring anything specific we wanted to drink.

I have been to my friend’s house many times and figured that we’d be sharing the night with maybe 10 or so other people.

When I got there, I was pretty shocked to see a food truck parked in the driveway!

A food truck.

Parked in the driveway.

I love food trucks.

Especially good ones.

This was a great food truck.

I can’t say that I have ever seen a food truck at a private party before! Usually they are buzzing around outside of major events and other places with swarms of people. There were maybe about 30 people at my friend’s house that night and this food truck was cranking out food to all of us the entire night. The best part was that my friends had taken care of the costs, so all you had to do was walk up and order a delicious treat.

It was pretty impressive. I’m not sure that I would have thought of that. I know that I have seen some food trucks trolling neighborhoods like the ice cream truck used to, but never just parked in a driveway on a busy night like New Year’s Eve!

I’m not saying that everyone has to do something similar, but it’s cool to think of it as an option. I suppose that you can go with an old-fashioned caterer (which is great too), but this just added an element of fun that was unexpected. They did a great job and helped us make it a very happy New Year!
